Michael Jackson Makes Appearance At Hot 97 Summer Jam 2001

Renowned hip-hop artist Jay-Z generated the loudest cheers from the crowd during the Hot 97 Summer Jam 2001 when he presented Michael Jackson as his special guest. The show took place this Thursday at the Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, New York. "I know Michael Jackson better come from behind that (snip) curtain," Jay-Z said during his performance. When Jackson did not appear, the crowd seemed to assume that Jay-Z was merely joking. "You want me to go back and get him myself?", he asked a fan, "OK, I'm 'a go get him."

A few seconds later he shocked the crowd when he appeared on the stage with Jackson. The two posed for photographs briefly. For one photograph, Jackson did a b-boy pose with his arms folded. Jackson received a standing ovation from the audience and left the stage after saying "I love you all".

Michael Jackson to offer assistance in search of lost children
Kind hearted King of Pop, Michael Jackson is to use the power of celebrity to help in the search for missing children across the globe. The Assoicated Press in Floria have reported that 42 year-old Megastar will assist in the effort to find missing children by printing photographs of several younsters on the inside sleeve of his soon to be released album Invincible. Amongst the children featured will be Sabrina Aisenberg; a five-month old toddler who was snatched from her crib, as her parents slept in their suburban Tampa home in November 1997.

Sabrina's parents, Steve and Marlene Aisenberg told America station, WTVT-TV on Wednesday that the famous father of two will include a song about missing children on his new music release, and that a picture of Sabrina will feature in the album's inside cover.

Slash to play with Jackson at MSG
Former Guns 'n' Roses guitarist Slash has signed up to play at the Michael Jackson tribute concerts in September at Madison Square Garden. He's always admired Jacko and featured on his hit single Black and White. Slash was thrilled when he received a call asking him to play, but he's trying to steer clear of a certain teen pop queen: "I guess I'm up there with a couple of other people like Whitney Houston but somehow they keep trying to get me to pair up with Britney Spears and I've been trying to avoid it! 'N Sync are going to be there so it'll be interesting company. But Michael's there and he asked me to do my thing so that's cool."

Michael's long-awaited new album is due out just before the concerts but Slash doesn't think it's that important for Jacko to reclaim his title of King of Pop: "He's the genuine article. Whether it's going to blow everybody else off the charts is not really of concern to me because I know whatever he puts on there at least will be heartfelt and real and whether everybody picks up on it or not is down to them. Nobody can ever predetermine that."

World Tour 2002?
The MJ Net Entertainment AG website (see news below) reports in it's newsletter that a world tour will follow the new album in 2002. Since nothing has been confirmed by Michael Jackson or one of his spokesmen this is completley unsure. The MJ Net Entertainment AG is only a company that has a licensing-contract with Michael Jackson but is not his official site, so it is unsure from where the company got this news. Altough no one would have a problem with a new tour. Again: this is NOT official....
